Ryan McGuffie signed a contract with Queen of the South over the weekend. He is a local lad; born in Dumfries in 1980. Ryan is a utility player who can play either in midfield or at right back. He previously played for Queens Park (1998-1999), Annan (1999-2001), Newcastle United (2001-2002), Gretna (2002-2008), and Morton (2008-2010).
Ryan played for Queens before, as a trialist against Barnsley, and came on as a sub against Southport in pre-season 2002-2003 before he joined Gretna.
With our squad being reduced, a utility player is useful as he can cover positions as and when required. We wish Ryan all the best with Queens and hope he can be a positive addition to our team!
