Andy LewisKings Coffee and Books on Queensberry Street, Dumfries, is staging their second “Acoustic Night”, this Saturday 16th April, from 7pm.

Guest artist this time is Andrew Lewis, 17 year old singer songwriter from Wishaw. Helen Smith, who has been putting the event together says, “Andrew is known to many people in Dumfries as ‘Andy the Busker’. I was walking through the town a few weeks ago and heard Andy singing next to M&S and was immediately struck by his voice piercing the crowds and by his confident approach. When I found out he is only 17, I realised this guy will go far.” He sings an Folky/Indy style which generates a wide appeal

Andy was delighted to be noticed and is looking forward to playing in Kings’ town centre venue. Asked why he comes from Wishaw to Dumfries to busk he said, “Well my dad comes down here sometimes, so I get a lift with him, but the weather is nice in Dumfries”

Andrew plays guitar and keyboards as well as singing and he’s been accepted for the Music course at Motherwell College starting in September. His passions as music and skateboarding and he plays in Carluke band, ‘Miscued Vein’, which has recently been offered music recording contracts.

In addition to Andy performing on Saturday night, Kings’ staff will be serving speciality coffee and other drinks & food throughout the evening but they’ll also be providing a unique demonstration and tasting opportunity for various ingenious brewed coffee techniques.
