Award Nominated Comedy On the Trails of a Stay in hospital
Following a sell out, critically acclaimed, run at the Traverse Theatre, Theatre Modo’s Sick is coming to Dumfries. SICK follows a patient as she negotiates the absurdities of a day in hospital, revealing her wildest imaginings and darkest thoughts as medication, boredom and illness give wings to her flights of fancy. Sick faces a serious subject with a truly heart warming comedy.
The show provides 60 brilliantly observed minutes, that are never less than funny. Suzie Ferguson who plays the hospitalised clown is in the running for the Critics Award for Best Female Actor for her performance and rightly so.
SICK is inspired by the time director Martin Danziger has spent in hospital following a diagnosis of cancer in 2007, and in a professional capacity as a Clown doctor. To provide a truly insightful take on something all but the luckiest of us can relate to.
Theatre Modo’s Sick is at the Brigend Theatre Sat 22 May 7:00pm
