Sometime over the weekend Sky television cables have been cut at houses in College Street and Stakeford Street in Dumfries.

Again, over the weekend a number of telephone cables have been cut at telegraph poles in and around Dumfries. A cable was cut at a pole in Alloway Road, and similar cables have been cut at West Cluden Farm at Newbridge, one on the road between Woodlands and Newbridge, another at High Mansefield Farm at Terregles and one on the Irongray to Shawhead Road.

In each case when the cable has been cut a large number of telephone subscribers have been cut off and police warn of the dangers of such actions.
