Around 0210 hours on Tuesday 2 August 2011 a fire was discovered at a shed situated at a house in Main Street, Springfield. As a result of the fire the shed and contents were completely destroyed, as was a VW Passat car which was parked next to the shed. The car is valued at £8000, and the contents of the shed, which included tools and machinery is valued at well over £1000. Early indications suggest that the fire is suspicious and a full joint investigation between police and Fire and Rescue Service officers will take place later today.
