It’s an engaging event with a special contribution from two local seasoned broadcasters – Colin Colthart and Giancarlo Rinaldi from the BBC studios on Lovers Walk. Colin looks after the local radio news broadcasts and Giancarlo looks after the local online content for bbc.co.uk

Everyone is welcome and the formal AGM follows at 8.30pm for those who choose to stay.

Joanna Lumley's Trans-siberian AdventureOur Patron, Joanna Lumley, begins a new series on ITV tonight – Joanna Lumley’s Trans-siberian Adventure – which sees her travel the 6,400-mile route from Hong Kong to Moscow. Joanna begins her train journey in Hong Kong, which she last visited when she was four. She has not been to Moscow since 1966, when she was there as a model at the height of the Cold War.

The first in a three part series is on ITV tonight (Sunday 12th July) from 9pm – 10pm.

Election 2015Join the audience in Kings Coffee and Books, 12 Queensberry Street, Dumfries DG1 1EX, for a live election debate, with all the main parties represented by local candidates.

The broadcast goes live at 7.30pm on Thursday 23rd April, but we’re looking for a studio audience to be in place by 7pm.

The event is ticketed, but free, and we ask that you declare your political allegience, in order to keep the audience balanced. You will need to reserve a ticket in advance, to be admitted.

Building on the success of last years event Alive presenters Iain Renicks and Tony Charlesworth will embark on a marathon broadcast on the 15th of September broadcasting for 24 hours solid.

Iain and Tony’s effort is to raise funds for the station and they plan all sorts of interesting programming for their super show . From the 60’s to Crooners and Dance to Sport it promises to be an action packed 24 hours.
