Alive 107.3fm can now be heard by the patients at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, within the Hospital’s internal media system.
The Infirmary doesn’t have a dedicated hospital radio service, so approached the Health Board and Hospedia, who provide the patient bedside system, offering to be included in the selection of free radio stations on their system. All the permissions and engineering solutions are now in place and the service is live.
Thanks to all who have made this possible. In the spring, we hope to have a hospital dedications show as a regular part of our schedule. Watch this space!
We apologise for difficulties throughout today which led to aliveradio.net being out of action for a while. It was due to circumstances beyond our control, with our site server. Our hosting company now inform us that everything has been restored at their end, but there may be short periods over the next 24 hours with brief interruptions to normal service, while they work to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
Thanks for your understanding.
The Alive Radio techy team.
We have been having a wee bit of trouble with our internet feed, on aliveradio.net.
We apologise for this and assure you that we’re doing all we can to overcome the problems. There may be a planned break in internet transmission this afternoon, to carry out maintenance procedures.
Thanks.
We’re glad to say that everything is back to normal now with our online broadcasting facility. Thanks for your patience.
The Technical Team
If you were trying to listen to Alive Radio on line or on air yesterday, you will have noticed we were experiencing some serious difficulties after 3pm and no live shows were presented.
All has now been restored and normal service has been resumed.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
The Techy Team.
We are experiencing some serious problems with our studio system today. Apologies – we hope to resume normal service later today.
Our new antenna or, to be more precise, antennae (there are two of them) are now fully installed, calibrated and tested. FM service is back to normal, on 107.3FM and first indications are a significant improvement in coverage, with much more consistent reception in the whole area.
Please feedback your experience of the new coverage. Thanks.
This morning’s FM service disruptions are continuing into the afternoon, as our engineers test out our new antenna. Normal service will be resumed soon. Internet streaming is unaffected.
On the morning of Saturday 19th September, we’re fitting a new antenna to our transmitter, which means the FM service in Dumfries will be disrupted for most of the morning. The internet feed will continue pretty much as normal, with occasional breaks for other maintenance jobs.
Thanks for understanding. This maintenance work should result in better FM reception.
