This Saturday, 24th August, sees some of the staff from King’s Coffee and Books producing their own acoustic night. Called Kings Own Blend, with contributions from Davi Santos (from Brazil), Bethany Smith, Joanna Tolentino and Samuel Ocansey, demonstrating that barista can not only make great coffee, but also produce some great music. With a variety of styles, including vocals, guitar, keyboards and even some percussion, it’s guaranteed to be an entertaining and engaging night, with coffee and nibbles served throughout.
Two weeks later, on Saturday 7th September, Beccy Atherton concludes the series, returning to Kings with her guitar/vocal talent. Beccy is a Manchester born Singer/Songwriter now based in Dumfries. After two E.P’s and experimenting within genres ranging from contemporary folk through to electronica Beccy is now finding her own sound, taking influence from the likes of the likes of Jeff Buckley, Nick Drake, Laura Marling, Scott Matthews which can be seen stylistically within her song-writing “This fantastic rising star hooks in the audience and takes them on her journey every time, just a great talent and a must see live act.” Beccy is set to release a new four track E.P in early 2014 and we’re delighted to have her return to Kings to complete our summer series.
