Police in Dumfries appeal for witnesses following the hit and run incident on St Mary’s Street, on Monday.
The incident occurred on St Mary’s Street near to Lovers Walk at around 23.50hrs on Monday 6th September 2010 . A local 60 year old man was walking home when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle involved failed to stop.
Police have identified the vehicle concerned as a blue coloured Vauxhall Corsa motor car, Registration mark: S328ANU. It would appear the vehicle has been taken from outside its owners house at some point during the evening and as such the driver at this time is unknown.
Sergeant Millar of the Roads Policing Unit said, “I am appealing for the driver of this vehicle to come forward and identify himself or herself, the gentleman who was knocked down is still in DGRI in a critical condition. I would also like to ask any member of the public who saw this vehicle at any point during Monday evening or who has any information as to who the driver might be to contact us on 0845 600 5701 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
