Youth BuzzSummer in Nithsdale looks set to be sizzling as the launch of Youth Buzz promises to bring you a brilliant summer programme almost to your door.

The Council is bringing a state of the art mobile youth unit to various communities within the Nithsdale area. Activities will include various sports, sumo wrestling, the Log on Bus, DJing, PS3, information, street art, films, health and beauty equipment plus much much more. Youth Buzz is organised by Community Learning and Development Service in Nithsdale in partnership with Leisure and Sport Nithsdale.

The road show will be held in a variety of places 7 days per week from 3rd July – 31st July and these will run both in the afternoons and evenings and it’s free! Look out for what’s happening in your area.

Youth Buzz was launched on Saturday 3 July at Dock Park, Dumfries, where over 200 people joined the roadshow which included sumo wrestling, assault course, Giant Jenga, BBQ, live music, arts and crafts and much more.

Mark Molloy, Senior Community Learning & Development Officer, said, “The roadshow is great opportunity for young people to access youth work facilities in the heart of their local community. There will be variety of exciting activities for them to try from sumo wrestling to DJing.”

Councillor Gill Dykes, Vice Chairperson of Nithsdale Area Committee, said, “Nithsdale Area Committee is delighted to be supporting Youth Buzz and giving local communities access to quality youth services over the summer. The roadshow highlights our commitment to young people and to giving them a range of opportunities over the holiday period that they can come along to with their friends.”
