Reptile found in Thornhill area

Scottish SPCA is appealing for information after a bearded dragon was found on a quiet country road in Dumfries and Galloway.
Scotland’s animal welfare charity was alerted when a woman walking her dog came
across the creature at Gatelawbridge near Thornhill on 22 July.
The bearded dragon is now in the care of the charity’s animal rescue and rehoming
centre in Ayr, where staff have named him Mushu.
Animal rescue officer Tricia Smith said, “As Mushu was found half a mile away from
any houses it is possible he has been abandoned.
“He seems to be fit and healthy so he may have escaped from his home nearby.
“We are appealing for anyone who recognises Mushu to get in touch.”
Anyone with information is being urged to contact the Scottish SPCA
Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999.
